This was built, pretty much out of boxes, except for the tracks, which were from Rye Field Model.

1474
1475

Model was assembled out of box with a few little added details and then primed using Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. 1st color applied was AK Interactive Real Colors RC 061 Dunkelgelb Dark Yellow, 1944 variation. And then highlighted.

1477
1476

Next came a camo pattern of AK Real Colors RC047 OlivGrun (RAL6003)with highlighting of that color.

1479
1481

Next color was, AK Interactive Real Colors RC068 Red Brown (RAL8017) with highlighting afterwards.

1483
1484
1485
1486
1487

Afterwards, chipping, pin washes, and overall weathering, addition of tracks and light stowage were added. I also used the AK Interactive weathering pencils on some portions of the model. Spare tracks are some old Friulmodels I had left over, which were blackened and then weathered and rusted appropriately.

Here's the completed model;

Greetings;

Here's another Sherman. This time it's the very nice kit from Tamiya. I purchased a detail set from Legends for this kit, but didn't use all of it because some of the resin pieces had serious molding flaws.

1459
1458
1460
1461

By luck, I found, a turned barrel by MR Modellbau on the M& Models website.

So the kit was started, built out of box initially, with detailing added afterwards, from the Legends kits, and of course, good old Archer Fine Transfers casting numbers, which are getting harder and harder to find at a somewhat reasonable prices. 🙄 It's sad they stopped, but I completely understand. Hopefully somebody else continues on.

1463
1462

The complete suspension and running gear were finished first. The tracks are from the Rye Field Models Easy Eight. Perfect fit with nice track tension.

Next was the upper hull and turret. They were primed with Mr. Surfacer Black 1500. The main color was AK Interactive Real Colors RC096 IDF Sand Grey 1973, with color modulation. Next was the addition of decals, pin washes, scratches and chips, and weathering, and finally stowage.

Here's the final result;

1467
1466
1465

1468

All critique, good and bad welcome.

Purchased this particular kit a couple of years ago. It was in the bargain bin, at my favorite hobby shop.

1445

Note; the pic is a stock picture, as I threw out the box that had the old Tasca logo on it.

The model kit was partially built, so the owner of the shop, knocked another $5 off, bringing to the grand total, if I remember correctly, 😀 of about $15.

It apparently came from an estate sale, with a ton of other kits.

I guess during the build, the person got a little agrivated with it and decided to shelf it. There were a couple of mistakes made, but nothing horrible. I will say they did an excellent job on the two piece barrel. So it sat on my shelf for roughly two years. I sat down one day, corrected all the mistakes, and geeked out this little tank, adding details and doing a little research.

I primed it using Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. It was then coated with AK Interactive Real Colors RC027 Forest Green. And then modulation was done lightening the main color.

1446
1447
1448

Roadwheels were given some damage, painted separately, with a Quick Wheel template and weathered lightly, including the worn bare metal ring from the track teeth rubbing against them. Decided to use the a set of Meng T48 tracks I had left over from that build. They built up very nice, with a little patience. Painted and weathered them and then applied them to the tank. They fit perfectly and had some great track tension.

Added remaining details to the tank and added some stowage from various makers. Here's the final result;

But, it is an excellent kit, and very accurate.

I will mention I wasn't trying to build 'Fury'! Although it looks a little like it.

Whole tank was painted with AK real colors OD and black modulation. And weathered with a variety of products.

All of the stowage is a mixture of Value Gear, Tamiya, Miniart, and Asuka. Tarps and blankets and civilian blankets are tissue paper that was painted appropriately.

The tracks, oh my! The tracks! I assembled them per the instructions and they were a bit of bear to paint and cover all the surfaces. I put the tracks away and saved them for another EZ8 project later and used some AFV Club T66 tracks. What's nice about this kit is you have the ability to tension the tracks tight. And the AFV Club tracks; they look and take paint great. Perfect fit! No issues with them.
