This AVF Club Churchill Mk III kit was a very nice and pain in the ass kit. It gave me a chance to see how the suspension worked and a great look at the early version tank.
Pros:
- Great suspension.
- Came with a metal barrel.
- Instructions are better than Dragon’s.
- Workable tracks over the standard rubber band tracks.
Cons:
- Photo etch numbering not right on directions.
- More marker points needed on lower hull sides when putting them together.
- Over sized connection points from the sprue to the parts, this made for broken parts on the very small ones. Some were not usable and new ones had to be made.
- Broken parts from the way the kit was packaged (not shipping damage).
- Not calling out the size drill needed and at times does not even call out for the hole to be drilled.
Overall if you take your time and not in a hurry then you will love this kit. I’m not feeling like this would be for beginners as it has a ton of clean up work and reading their mind on how it comes together.
I used Mission Models Paint Bronze green for the main color and tried and three tone shadow tone method, which tends to be covered up after weathering.
Hope you like it..
