I'm really impressed with new scout car, a lot more detail and thought in the design. Really hope they overhaul their half track kits with the new tooling.

Upper section is like the chassis, a smooth build. Soon it will be time for primer but first I'll need to get all the small parts in place and the tools prepped and the two part windshield masked off.
On this build I'm thinking about XF-62 OD with Mission Models lighter OD over top areas either airbrushed or dry brushed. Also thinking about ordering some stowage but we will see.

@ronlooks like clean and easy build with no complications.  I agree it would be nice to see them (Tamiya) revamp their halftrack kits. I fondly remember building their M3A1 kit, back in the day. It went together very nicely.

I understand the AFV club has the M16 Half Track bow and got some decent reviews.

Yes it is tempting! I had it in my cart at Sprue Brothers, but will hold off, but on the the other hand, I got my package from BNA Hobby World today. A nicelooking Bronco Ram II tank was in its contents. 😀As well as my Tamiya 2 part Epoxy putty, and Mini Art 1/35th Tool Set.

Tamiya still has push pin marks all over the place, but on this kit they are not deep and very easy to scrape them off with a sharp chisel.

Moving back to the scout car and getting all the small parts ready for primer I ran across push pin marks on all the back seats. Now all gone

All parts now have been primed and light shading with Vallejo 71.033 Yellow Ochre, then Tamiya XF-62 Olive Drab for body color. For the straps, seats and canvas bag at the back will be Mission Models Khaki Drab MMP-023.

Nice camo pattern! What paints did you use? Looks like it went down very nicely, without a hitch. Did you free hand or use masking putty?
