Greetings all,

Yep its late, but I work the swing shift. Only 10 more years till I retire.😉

Since the Panzer III bug bit me, I decided to head to my storage unit where I had this kit stashed with my other 70 + kits. Yeah, by some standards thats not alot compared to others 😝 'collections'.

The kit pictured, is a decent kit, and went  together rather easily, and has minimal photo etch.  I'm not a fan of Dragon DS or their link tracks, so I ordered some Friulmodel Panzer III early tracks. They should be here soon from Scale Hobbyist.

I did replace the MG barrels with offerings from RB and Master Model. But the main gun barrel was fine right out of the kit, as it is slide molded. I did purchase a Quick Wheel  mask for the Dragon Panzer III/ Stug. It'll make painting faster and more convenient on the road wheels.

For this build, it'll be light weathering and the vehicle will be finished in Mig Panzer Grey with color modulation, and the appropriate washes.

So far I've sprayed Mig 2024 One Shot  Grey Primer.  It went on smoothly with no issues. Here's what I have finished so far;

Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

I've not found Mig paints to my liking but glad they work for you. There is a lot of detail on this kit and it looks fantastic

I switch between Mission  Models

and Ammo by Mig. I recently purchased some AK Real Color paints and will be giving them a try.

When I buy MM paints its usually direct from the maker off their website. They usually get here within 4 days of ordering.

for modulation.

Going to let it sit till next weekend, and then paint the markings on. Overall, so far its a nice kit and I've heard and experienced good things with their Panzer III kits.

Panzer grey was the main color I used when I first got into AFV builds when I was around 18, then when I got back into building in 2014 it was mainly dark yellow. Now it's either as it the mood I'm in when the kit is started.

Kind of like the early and late versions of the Karl mortar

Wow, those are beautiful!

I'll do the same side by side comparison when I'm done with this kit!

More progress. Tracks test fitted. I used Fruils for this one and Mig burnishing fluid, and Mig track wash. The markings were painted on using Eduard masks (photo etch and tape style). Did the filter and chipping

on the whole vehicle. Pin wash next and then the final weathering. Only about 4 items will be stowage and thats from Value Gear, Miniart, Bronco. Kind of keeping it to a minimum since this is an early war vehicle.

Thanks for the kind words!👍I found that using and lightening Panzergrau, was pretty simple. The modulation part was actually quite fun. I used Migs kit and my own imagination. It reminded me of weathering Olive Drab for U.S. vehicles. It wasn't as hard as doing camo weathering though. Just lots of patience and perseverance.😉 Instead of the decals, all  the markings were airbrushed on using stencils. That was hard and mistakes were made but fixed.

I'm going to touch it up some more and weather the tracks and possibly add two more links per side to get a slight sag.  Its not done but close. I used Fruils on it. More weathering to come.

After this is done, I'll get cracking on the Bronco Ram II.  I've done some minor assembly on it. There seems to be some flaws in the instructions, but so far its going together well.

I did purchase another kit, the Tamiya Panzer III N. I've only inspected the contents of the box and added two MG 34 machine gun barrels from Master Model. One tip and one armored  barrel. Will order some aftermarket tracks for this one. The kit itself comes with a turned aluminum short 7.5 Cm barrel and metal photoetch grills. It seems to be a very nice kit. I'll probably do an Afrika Corp theme on it.
